Did any one notice the Liam lookalike in the episode called "42"? He could have been Liam's shorter, younger, somewhat less attractive brother!

there is a catch though: it will air in 2010! David wants to do 2 years of theater (Hamlet) and in 2009 there will be only three specials of Doctor Who!

Did anyone feel as bad for John Smith as I did?

I did. But do you also feel that the struggling scenes (for not wanting to revert back to the Doctor) are too long and scattered?
Also, it seems that the nurse developed deep and strong feeling for him too quickly. And I don't quite get her turmoil emotion after she rejected the idea of becoming the his other companion. She had nobody at home and John smith was embedded within the Dcoctor who remembered and cared for her deeply; why wouldn't she join them? |

The changing back debate scenes were a bit long but were some of my favorites of the season.
John Smith had been there for two months, a bit quick for such strong feelings but not unheard of. I don't know why she didn't go with him either. Maybe partially for Martha's sake. I think I've put too much thought into this it's only a tv show! LC

That was a great episode, well-written script. I like how the story unfolded from the perspectives of an original character interlinked with several others. And through time and space, every single event converges. Great story-telling.
Scare me half to death, too. |

Great ep that one and not at all bad considering our stars were not in it all that much. I'd love to see the girl as a companion I really liked her.

Captain Jack will be back, this I heard.
I also try very hard to ignore the rumors about "the face of Boe". If that were true, then I'd be utterly ticked off. |

Re: tonight's episode (US)

Kat's reaction to that rumour......... *like Luke Skywalker* "Noooooooooooo!!! That's not true!!! That's impossible!!"
She's really not keen on the idea either.. This is what her friend had to say - "If these spoilers about Jack are true, and he actually turns out to be the Face of Boe, I am going to be devestated. I will never be able to enjoy his character again knowing his fate, and whenever I see and FoB scenes again, I'll be in tears. ...It's going to be as bad as Doomsday. I can practically see Jack's face if he were to find out, that beautiful terrified confusion that John is able to convey, and sure he gets to live for billions of years, but he's a paraplegic and alone for the rest of time. Maybe being forced to travel alone until the end is his punishment for being an Intergalactic Playboy, but that isn't fair. I swear to God I'm dreading this episode almost as much as I feared watching episode 13 last year, because I knew Billie was leaving and that it would break my heart. It did. And it still does whenever I watch it or hear the strings on the music. I know it's only a television show, but it's the only show that I stupidly care so much for the characters that I would give my right leg up for just to see them remotely happy." Sally

Yea the Master is back! I was hoping that was what The Face of Bo was talking about when he told the Doctor he was not alone. The episodes with the Master were some of my favorites from the old Doctor Who.

The old guy who plays Professor Yana is very good, isn't he?
I wonder why I feel that Captain Jack in Doctor Who and Captain Jack in Towchwood are two different characters. |

Re: Tonight's Episode (US)

The "old guy who plays Professor Yana" is Derek Jacobi, one of the great actors of our generation, and Kenneth Branagh's mentor.
I first ran across him (while traveling in my Tardis) in 1977, in the title role of a PBS series called "I, Claudius." Brian Blessed, Sian Phillips and a young and terrifying John Hurt were also in it. He was in the film Branagh wrote (?) and directed (?) called "Dead Again" -- also with Emma Thompson. A truly weird story, but with those three actors it was wonderful. I'd encourage you to look for some of his other film/tv work if you liked him in Who-ville. |
