Lukaya,

I like when you said "they all seemed to be very vulnerable - Brain, Curt, and Arthur, and that is the charm of the movie... ". What a true statement that just about sums up life in general! When you want, you're in need; when you need, you twist the perceptions of your surroundings.

After Brian resurfaced as Tommy Stone, another song ("Tumbling Down") came on the screen. You were saying that the singer was Tommy but still looked so much like Brian, right? Also, you thought Tommy deliberately underwent plastic surgery to make himself look like his manager? The one who sang "Tumbling Down" *was* Brian, not Tommy. It is confusing because that was a flashback of when Brian was still Brian. Since the whole story was done through a retrospective angle, a flashback among flashbacks would definitely throw people off. Now, the identity change: the staged shooting was cooked up by Brian's manipulative costume consultant - it was a desperate smoke screen by the duo after Jerry Levine (the manager) refused to release Brian from the contract. Eddie Izzard, a wonderful standup comedian, played the part of the manager. Watch the movie again; you will agree that Tommy Stone and Jerry Devine look so vividly different.

I don't know if it's just me or something, but I feel that Nicole Kidman had a little crush on Ewan, and who wouldn't? :) . From all accounts, they seemed to get along very well on the set of Moulin Rouge, and the chemistry really translated to the film.

The kiss between Brian and Curt, hmm, could have been more intense, although it was very smooth. MORE TONGUE!!!

There is an interesting article in one of New York's newspapers; it mentioned how actors used to be so reluctant to play gay characters, and now everybody just can't wait to do it. How interesting is that?
